is!) SF-CD offers the answer.
Ver. 6.0 of the Surface Finishing CD-ROM has grown so that it now
holds over 75,000 records, including abstracts & details of metal
finishing publications (as well as patents) from around the world covering
a period from 1960 to 2002. Electroplating, electroless plating, anodising,
conversion coatings, electroforming, effluent treatment, printed circuit
board manufacture, hot dip galvanising, vitreous enamelling are all covered.
Search for any word, any number, any string, use full Boolean logic (“and”
“or” “not”) and place conditions on your search (date
limits, title only search etc).
For all those topics where no book is available (and indeed those where
there is!) SF-CD offers the answer. For those very specific questions,
such as “resistivity of electroless nickel” - we know of no
better way to locate the answer. SF-CD is based on an abstracting policy
that if a publication contains quantitative data - this will be “flagged”.

SF-CD runs under Windows (TM) (all versions) and comes completely self-
contained. If your computer runs Windows (TM) and has approx 12Mb space
hard disk memory, we would expect SF-CD to operate without problems.
We know of no comparable product to SF-CD and certainly not at anything
like the budget price we’ve held it down to. It holds data not available
from on-line databases. Searching a database like this with no “taxi-meter”
charges clocking up, allows you as user to take time to devise the best
possible search strategy.
Use SF-CD for only a very few hours, and it will have paid for itself
in terms of on-line charge costs saved. Use it as a front-end search,
for full searching - use it for trouble-shooting.
Provision of full-text. In most cases, we are able to provide on request,
photocopies of the full text of publications abstracted at reasonable
charge.
